Since the person favorited it in his gallery because they liked the image I would understand they don't have a problem with it. If they do they can hide the the message and delete the image from their favorites. DA also has a content filter for those who object to such material that can turned off or on. I hope that answers your question.
still kinda seems like a waste of time. if thanking them is such a big deal to you then why do you not do it notes? you see, when you post a pic of your art in the comments that's when it starts to seem like you're purposely advertising on THEIR page
